Poetry by Jessica Lee McMillan

From “Oculus Artificialis Teledioptricus Sive Telescopium” by Johann Zahn, Public Domain Review.

poetic sight is afterimage floating on receptors like oil on finger silhouette burnt in eye or lingering scent secreting indelible savour photochemical inspiration distorts episteme, the revelation of glowing leaf a mood of a stream the glare of a feeling all wavelengths above words in dark chamber colours obscured like vision without verbs in the eye, in the mind resisting computation we become all singular things juggling perception, instinct to induce language in empty shape with frenzied digits putting ghost to page
